Applied Semantics: worth more than a billion

Applied Semantics was acquired by Google at April 2003 for 41.5 million cash and 2,382,800 Google shares.

Those shares were worth $1.7 billion last week, and the GOOG share has dropped much after its peak at 741 USD.

The shares have been worth 40 times multiple of the cash payment after 4 1/2 years. This is certainly one of the greatest acquisitions in the world’s history.
